STEP 1: Remove the 6 long screws and the small bottom screw.

STEP 2: Remove the 3 small inner screws (Some may only have 2; that is normal)

STEP 3: To separate the motherboard from the LCD, lift the 2 side notches and then lift the ribbon out of the port.

.

Note: You can use flux to help the solder adhere to any of the points on the boa and the tactile switches, but make sure you clean up with a Q-tip and alcohol to remove residue.

Step 4: Pre-solder points: TP1, TP0, Gold square to the right of TP0, TP5, TP7, TP4, TP8, and SCR (Right side of L Trigger)

The solder points are circled in the picture. An example of pre-soldered points is in the picture below.

Step 5: Line up the D-pad tactile switch with the points TP5, TP7, TP4, TP8, and SCR (Right side of L Trigger). We recommend using some Kapton tape to temporarily line it up. Make sure to remove the tape before soldering near it. Solder the points together with another bead of solder above.

Note: If you are having issues with one button not working. Most likely, the point is not fully soldered to the board.

Ex: This is a GBC, but use the same concept for taping down the GBA tactile switches.

This is what it should look like after being soldered.

Step 6: Redo the same step-up with the A&B buttons. Pre-solder points: TP1, TP0, Gold square to the right of TP0

This is what it should look like after being soldered.

Step 7: Make sure to clean off any flux residue with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. And you can place the button and specialty button pads on the console.

STEP 8: Attach the motherboard to the ribbon cable. Make sure the ribbon cable is fully inserted and the side notches are both pushed down fully.

STEP 9: Flip the motherboard closed over the shell and screw in the motherboard with the short screws at the 3 points shown below. Make sure the screws are not too tight.

NOTE: If you are having issues with the feel of the buttons, it may be that the screws are too tight. Loosen the screws or remove one of them to allow room.
NOTE: These images show the V5 kit. You may not have the extra wires if you are using the original display or another kit.

STEP 10: Place the power switch, side bumpers, and the L and R triggers as shown below.

STEP 11: Test the system. Always test your system before you close it. Any issues that arise can be fixed now.

STEP 12: Attach the back plate of the shell and screw in the big screws in the spaces shown below. Make sure to use the small screw for the battery compartment (green circle), as a big screw may damage the shell.

Make sure not to tighten the screws too tightly to avoid anything breaking or warping the shell.
